Ir. Harcourt for the post H.R.
2. In due course the Director will
recomend a suitable candidate for the post
in question, but I understand that there
is no reason for urgency in the matter, as
had r. Cormack lived, the Director had
contemplated that he should be granted
leave of absence from the Colony in view
of his unsatisfactory medical history, and of
his having completed nearly five years'
continuous service in Hong Kong, in which
case the auditing work during his absence
would have been carried on with the help
of one Assistant Auditor only.
